Title: Landing gear springs
Post by: airman on May 02, 2016, 09:38:20 AM
Can someone walk me thru the process of pre loading the springs on landing gear. I have the gear built but cannot understand how to set it up correctly. HELP.

Joe Engleman explains the "pre-load" aspect of the landing gear springs at the bottom/right of the first page here: http://www.eaglersnest.com/forum/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=6 (http://www.eaglersnest.com/forum/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=6)

Thank you for the reply but still confused.  It might be better for me if I can talk to whoever on the phone.

I just made a simple press from plywood and 1/4" threaded rod. The very top is solid with a hole at the bottom for the spring, I believe Lenard said he preloads his to about 5/8" can't remember offhand.
