That was sudden.  Glad you had plenty of landing options and came out OK.  The sheep in the field had to be nearly as surprised as you were.

What is the diagnosis..?

Did it drop a valve, taking out the piston and wrist pin..?  Or did the case let go behind cylinder #3 first..?

Awesome landing btw.

Thanks for sharing.

Its was build error - stupid mistake i left of a cir-clip on a gudgin pin,  right rear piston
no warning just a huge bang - Bang to touch down was 1100ft in 64sec
was just happy no damage to plane and all those dead still landings i always do, paid off .
Onlly 3 parts are getting reused Flywheel, Prop Hub and Heads
Start the new engine tomorrow

That was impressive.  Thanks for posting that vid.  Did my first simulated engine out landing last night in a Cessna 152 as a student pilot.  Going to ask my instructor if we can practice some more now.

So now I get why you are holding a wrist pin up to that big hole in the case...

We all make these mistakes.

Steve told me he likes to call in friends to eyeball his work, and pay them a dollar for every mistake they can find.
