Title: AirVenture '17 Plans
Post by: sideband on February 15, 2017, 11:58:34 AM: I've been to AirVenture several times but never stayed for the whole week. Is there usually an LE community meet up usually? I'm planning on camping out for the whole week this year.

If anyone flies in they will most likely be parked in the Ultralight area. I'm going to keep my eyes and ears open for other builders. I'd like to meet some of the people who've contributed to the forum over the last few years. Maybe I'll see you there.

Post by: Tom XL-7 on February 16, 2017, 04:23:43 AM: Vince, Wisconsin during AirVenture is a beautiful mix of warm days and cool nights. Unless you are in your tent during the day it shouldn't be hot. I find it refreshing to put a sweatshirt on at night.
Powerful storms roll through some years.
A well-designed tent properly oriented will handle it but I have had to remove fabric from a dining fly before it moved to the next county.

Post by: sideband on February 16, 2017, 10:00:51 AM: Nice! I'm a Com/Nav specialist, and the U-boat is my 4th version I've been on so far. I was at Moody for 6 years working on slick Es, and the HC-130Ps/HC-130Js. My plan for Oshkosh is to meet up with as many people as possible.
