I haven't been able to find those numbers.
BTW, I've been away for a while. Always loved the DE but never could pull the trigger. I love the folding wing design.
Can the DE fuselage of the CE be left uncovered like the DE? Can it be flown with doors off?
Thanks,
Paul

Numbers from my plans:
Empty dry weight: 487 lbs.
Gross weight: 987 lbs. Therefore useful load is 500 lbs.
Fuel capacity is 12 gallons.
I don't know the answers to your other questions, but I can't imagine that you couldn't fly it without doors and the fuselage uncovered. It is experimental, after all . . .

Is there an estimated, or, actual time it takes to build the DE or the CE ?

I have seen estimates to build the Legal Eagle in the upper hundreds of hours, so maybe 500-1000 hours depending on your speed and ability. The Cabin Eagle seems like it would take more than that with the larger size, additional fabric, doors, etc. but not double, so maybe 750-1500 hours?

I have about 800 hours in so far (for my Cabin Eagle). It should come in right around 1000 hours completed.

I recon i have better than 1400hrs - but then there are a lot of deviations away from a standard DE

Paul and MrG, are both of you building modified Double Eagles rather than Leonard’s Cabin Eagle design?
-
No, I'm building the Cabin Eagle. I started with DE wings on the basis that they were almost the same as the CE. I didn't make the ailerons until I got the CE plans and then finished the wings to CE spec's. The fuselage is CE with only my modifications.
