Title: Ad Blocker
Post by: 914pete on March 30, 2017, 09:08:32 AM
Hi, does anyone know how to "allow" eaglernest in AdBlock Plus?  The ad-on I have in Firefox is AdBlock Plus but I don't see any option to "allow" only certain websites ads.

Go to your add-on page for adblock.  Put a check mark in the "show in toolbar" tick box...

Then while you are reading this reply, (you are on the site you want to whitelist) click your adblock button (should see a red stop sign in upper right) and then click "Disable on eaglersnest.com".  Your stop sign will then be grey when you come to Eaglers Forum, meaning your adblock is not active.

I believe we doing these ADDs for income - so it does not heart to help out the Admin to click on the odd add to pay for this great resource
Thus clicking on any injected adds do come with a very small risk of code or malware injection, 99% safe as - I would never click on a link
when taken to the page it opens. not saying all is bad but most of my income comes from people doing this stuff ( IT ) and clicking on bad links

Mac's (apple) and most mobile device up to now are or have been very low targets due to their operating system - Well windows pc's keep clicking
i need to get more money to build a 2nd DE   :-)
I think Dan can answer if it helps pays the bills for the hosting ect?

We only have google adsense ads.  So they should only link to legitimate sites.  Especially if you run FireFox.  FF gives you a warning if you are about to surf into a nefarious web page.

Yes, the ad revenue is spent for the web hosting on GoDaddy.  We have warnings from them quite often that we need upgrade our "resources".  I think this only occurs when someone (from Russia..?) decides to go on a downloading spree.

All of the old Yahoo groups files, photos, and messages are on this forum...

I used to have a free antivirus app on my Android phone...
