Title: Sonerai tailwheel spring setup
Post by: Flyguyeddy on June 29, 2018, 05:37:59 AM
For those of you with the sonerai tailwheel spring/caster, how did you set up the fuselage to take it?   One long tube under the fuse, sort of like a socket for it?   I dont have sonerai plans yet so i dont know how they do it.

Thank you sir.  I actually intend to do something similar with the rudder horn as well!

Did you weigh the rod without the caster by any chance? I used a thin leaf spring just wondering if it is another place to cut weight.

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks, I made mine out of a 1"wide leaf spring that came out to 2 lbs.  It does not stick as far aft so the 7 oz is probably very little diff CG wise for me  for me. I am running the same caster you are with a plastic scooter wheel. Working well.
Thanks for info!
Bob
