Title: Quality Spar Varnish in distribution
Post by: WI_LEagle on December 27, 2018, 06:58:27 AM
I am using Helmsman Gloss Oil Based because Ed Sterba recommended it for my Propeller and it is in local distribution.  Another easy to obtain product is https://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/marine-coatings/spar-varnish/

Any practical experience with the Rustoleum product?  Does it remain flexible?

Also do people practice diluting the first coat with mineral spirits to soak into the surface?  I know Leonard recommends sanding prior to sealing to reduce the weight gain so critical on a part 103 build
