What is he recovering from? Regardless, I wish him the best and a speedy recovery!

He was on that B17 that crashed at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut. He is being credited with saving 2 other passengers while personally sustaining a broken arm, a broken collar bone, and suffering burns.
