Anyone have any suggestions or experience on loading a LEXL on a 16' flat bed trailer for cross-country travel?

I built a frame for the wings and raised the tail up so they could slide under the tail wheel

Do you have a picture? I'll eventually have to trailer my XL from NJ to GA.

I have an enclosed 16' v-nose trailer that I store my LEXL in and also transport with. I built some hangers for wings on the sides and with the v-nose mine just fits - I may have one or two inches to spare. I also build wheel stops and have a small ATV winch that I use to hold the frame in place. The winch is upfront mounted to the floor and I have a roller that sits right under the wheel shocks. I attached the winch strap to the shock center bar and when the airframe is in place the winch pulls down holding it absolutely in place. I also have a tail strap and block in the back - that probably is not needed but anyway, I have it.

If it is a one time deal, I have seen my hanger neighbor load his J3 into a UHaul box truck as he moved from Michigan to Washington. I suppose he didn't feel like flying at what would be most likely 40 mph avg ground speeds across the country :p. It was very reasonably priced and fit so perfect it was like it was designed by piper. I am sure an LE would easily fit in the same space as its big brother...
