Title: Molded Plastic Fuel Tank
Post by: MikeHuffman on April 24, 2024, 02:15:08 PM
In the Gallery, I saw a photo of Jim Hardy's molded plastic fuel tank; anybody know how molded plastic fuel tanks work out, if they are still available, and from where?

Thanks!
Mike

I have been flying for six years with  Mini Max molded fuel tank.  The Leu and XL wing is modeled after the Mini Max and the tank fits between the rib bays as long as you drop the diagonal brace down and double the ribs at the root and bay next to it.  Leonard doesn't consider it a legal eagle if you modify his LEU or XL plans.

According to the TEAM website, the molded plastic tanks are no longer available.

I'm using their 5 gallon aluminum tanks. Fit perfectly.

Ya had to twist the knife, didn't ya?  :))

Unfortunately TEAM is in the process of closing shop. They do appear to have some welded aluminum wing tanks (http://"https://www.teammini-max.com/online-store/fuel-tanks/") though
