I started repair on the sock monkey here are a few pictures of the ply glue on.

Not yet, I do live in a very humid place My ply is probably at max water absorption when it it glued on. My theory is that the wood drys and shrinks and gets tighter, as it gets high humidity again it goes back to the state is was glued on.
We'll see if the patch stays undimpled.
