Title: This Post demonstrates embedding a Photo instead of attaching the file...
Post by: Steve on November 12, 2013, 11:07:13 AM
This photo resides in a Public library on Google+ and belongs to Paul Smigel - a Yahoo Forum member that fly's out of an airpark in Hyder, AZ... I clicked the toolbar (insert image) Icon above and used the Google email http: address offered by a right click on the photo in Google:

There are other public photo galleries that you can keep your photos in for display this way - Google+ meets my needs...  If the photo you select to display is larger than 1024x768 you can limit the display in this Forum with the (insert image) tool... If the image is smaller than 1024x768 it will be blown up to that size with a loss of resolution if you put the limits in...

Yep it means exactly that.  If you have pics you want to post that reside on your home computer you will have to "attach" them.  If they reside on a server somewhere out on the net, you can just put the URL into your post and it will show like the one Steve sent.

You will prolly have to put the URL on a separate line by itself in your post like you have to do with videos that reside out on the net.

Joe,
Hit the "Attachments and other options"... the browse button will appear.  You then navigate to the pics on computer...

Well, of course. I zeroed in on the insert image at the top of the page; didn't look past that. Typical.  I knew it must be something embarrassingly obvious. Thx man

I'm not able to down load a pic into the forum profile. The little thumbnail where you show your Eagle in flight and Joe shows Rocky, on the left side of a post.. I reduced the image resolution but still don't get it to show. Thanks Murray

Murray,

The user uploaded avatar function is not behaving properly.  We are currently in contact with the forum software tech support and trying to make them understand the problem.

The "canned" avatars seem to work fine for some reason, but the uploaded ones don't stay uploaded very long.
