Mounting Slick 2220
«
on:

I just bought a slick 2220 from eBay as a possible spare as that is what I'm likely to get from cassler. Just curious how the heck this thing mounts to anything. I see an o ring but nowhere for bolts . if you have an idea what I mean/what I'm seeing please try to explain.
Thank you
John

John,
I've been looking at the same mag. I believe it is the same as a Fairbanks Morse unit in that it is held to the case plate by dogs. In fact I think the eBay unit comes with a couple.
I just went back to eBay to check that and it does come with the mounting dogs. Also made my purchase.

This is what mine looks like. There are two bolt holes. One at nine o'clock and one at three o'clock which secure the mag with dogs.

Mounting it depends on if you have a cut case or a full case, the full case Scott Casler uses an aluminum shaft he makes which attaches to the rear of the cut crankshaft, and extends it to the rear.
Look at this post for some pictures.

Thank you for the pictures Joe and Charles. I was wondering about the full case application for this mag. Also the how it was installed to the airframe without protruding into the cockpit area, but I see it does.
Pictures are worth a thousand words,

I had a friend of mine site in my fuselage and i held the Mag. in place and it does not get into the way of rudder peddles. so should work out very well.
