Wing attachment point
« on: March 09, 2019, 07:22:32 AM »
I noticed that my DE plans show the original LE style of wing attachment (single bolt through a post) as opposed to the LEXL (t bar) setup.   Im thinking of doing a folding wing single seat double eagle, and im curious, would the LEXL type wing mount be suitable for this?   Perhaps with beefier components?

Also, does the horiz stab HAVE to be one piece or can it be built in two pieces like the LE/XL?   Im wanting to do a “bodacious” style folding stab/elevator setup on that too.

Heres my 2 cents, I have a DE with single wing attach  - No i would never do that if I built another
Tee top would be way better easy to pull a wing by yourself. No, i would not do folding wings

If I built another (or modded mine),  i would still do a fixed wing but a cabin and from the back of the cabin to emp would be modded
there is enough info in the forum about this.

Folding wings are pretty much a requirement for me.

just copy from the CE drawings the attach - you may have to do a Cabin Le that's easy enough
if you have not done the wings then you laughing
its pretty easy
