Is anyone flying an Eagle covered with Oratex?  I just ordered a few samples to try it.

I was thinking about it. Have to do the math to see if the costs are compatible.

Be sure to ask if they have any returns or seconds...  I have heard several accounts that say they will give a discount but the merchandise delivered is flawless.

The only thing I have heard directly (from the end user in person) is that when your done, your done… always a good thing.

But if you want a super even finish from tip to root, it is not likely. (or gloss)   That being said, there have been many a conventional covered aircraft that have some kinda flaw in the paint or covering process.  This un-even-look seems to come from slight variations in the coloration of the Oratex fabric per running yard.  I have never heard that there is an actual flaw in the fabric.   They would not be able to  get certification if there was…

If  weight (less)  and reduced hours are your two main goals- this could rise to the top of the list.   Certainly has been used on aircraft, 2-3 times faster and up to 10  times larger…so no problem there!

Unless things have changed, you have but once source for it, in the USA   (Alaska)
