Engine Thrust angles
« on: May 06, 2018, 08:14:21 PM »
Checking my engine alignment prior to first flight.  I'm measuring my 37 hp, 1/2 VW engine thrust angles.  I looked at the plans but can't find any recommendations regarding thrust angles.  Should I assume 0 degrees side thrust and 0 degrees of down thrust?  I'm used to building plans built model airplanes with very specific side and down thrust recommendations.

I am a first time builder and did not consider angle of thrust.  I just built to the drawing and everything worked out.  My LE XL flies great.

I'm building a LEXL #H-13 and was wondering the same thing. I was trying to find the thrust line
degrees on the plans too....

Thanks John. I was planning to go with 0/0 and see how it flew.  I had less than 1 degree down thrust just bolting the engine on.  Looking forward to first flight!
