Scott Johnson's nose prop cone

on his L.E.?

Does anyone have a CAD drawing or tracing of the aluminum cooling eyebrows for the VW cylinder heads? I would like to make a set for my Mosler.
I can adapt for the Scat heads. I cannot find any information on the web.

Stock type vw heads are very different from the Scats.  In both cases one would do well to make sure the exhaust valve gets as much cooling as possible. 


The regular vw heads have fins and allow airflow between the intake and exhaust valve seats, and usually have casting flash  in that area that should be removed to enhance this air flow. 


You can carefully drill holes and then chuck a file in the drill motor to facilitate removing the flash.

You can use cardboard to make mock ups.  To attach use safety wire, pop rivets or any number of airworthy methods and combinations.

The inter webs are full of videos and photos of flat 2 cylinder engines pulling and pushing airplanes around...  Cooling shrouds range from none, to full J3 cub type eyebrows...

You may want to take into consideration not blocking too much carburetor warming air.
