We use the inverted V antenna like Les's attachment on the Double Eagle Stubby.  Works great.  When we needed an antenna for the recently restored Radial Eagle, I searched for these plans, and found the plans for an updated version 3 (attached).  I built an antenna based on those plans and it, too, works great.

The original version uses a Pawley stub matching element in the design, made from coax.

The Version 3 uses ferrite chokes as the matching element.  The designer says this version is more stable.  He gives a source for the chokes, but I searched and found some cheap ones on ebay.
