Has anyone heard of a half-vw conversion, using only either right-side or seft-side cylinders?

Funny you should ask. Well, not funny but interesting.
I looked at this briefly. You would have to use a full crankshaft and camshaft.
Way to much weight for just two cyls. and amount of power.
Stopped the thought process at this point.

I gather then that the full case 1/2 vw uses a cut crank? (& cam?)
