Headroom difference between LE and LE-XL?
« on: October 31, 2023, 07:16:01 AM »
Greetings,

Does the XL have more headroom as part of the larger design?

The XL is listed as being a good bit taller, but I think that's mostly the gear legs.  In an old thread, I remember seeing some comparisons where the XL actually had less headroom.  I know there are plenty of builder variations, so maybe that accounted for it.  I don't need the XL for load carrying or extra width, but I do need headroom.  I did sit in one original LE locally, and I could live with the headroom it had.  Of course if I were building (or modifying) the frame I could raise the wing a bit.

Thanks,
Rusty

Built strictly to plans, the XL has more headroom than LEU. You can change it on either design to suit your size.
