Engine mount Rubber - Attach to Engine
« on: April 13, 2014, 03:52:05 PM »
I totally get the engine mount drawing not a problem with that
Where i do have an issue is where the engine attaches to the engine mount rubbers
What do you guys do to the bell housing on the engine as there is a step on it, do we machine it flat
and not a lot of surface area at the mount area to accept the continental rubbers or make up a washer
set up to make the back of the engine to make it flat for the rubbers ?
Photo would be good if someone has one

Exactly - You grind away the tranny mounting lip there and put a very wide area washer against the engine case where it misses the Continental mount rubber bushing...

I would only remove enough of the step as you need to clear the washer as if you ever need to get your case align-bored, some engine shops use that ring to align the back of their boring machine.... MY "machinist" ruined a case of mine when his plate slipped and went off center. He didn't even offer me a replacement case... Don't think I will use him again!
