Silver Slug new wheel photos

To any interested ,

 I just uploaded 2 new photos of the Silver Slug sporting a new set of 24"X 3" tires an rims. This set up gives me about 3-1/2" more prop clearance in level attitude. Not as steep as Spencer's beast but the fat tires really help out with bumpy runways.

I SEEN them Fat Tyres at the bike shop a few months ago... I LIKE them a lot.... So you went with 26" rims??

They are 24 inch rims. Skyway tuff II just like our original 20 inch rims except being  a 7 spoke rim and 24 inch. I gained about 3-1/2 inches or there about. These  tires  have a wider and taller profile so I figure I am gaining 2 inches due to the rim being 4 inches in diameter taller compared to our old ones and the tire being taller in profile. I stood my old tires and rims next to the new ones and overall are 3-1/3 inches taller .If that makes since.

Scott: What's the weight difference between the 20 & 24 wheel assy's and did you investigate  the Skyway never go flat tire?... Steve

 1.2 pounds each. No I haven't checked into the no flat tires. I flew again today to test side loads and me pounding a few landings. So far seems promising. The side walls on these tires are very thin and I had my droughts about them holding up but a friend had a B1RD ultralight with the exact same set up and he swears by them. The hubs are not as wide as our original 20 inch rims though
 Also the side load Arm is greater so we will see how they hold up. 
I have a video coming soon to show me pounding a couple of. landings.
