Looking at the Valdez STOL winning plane I was struck by how it appears to merely be a Legal Eagle on steroids:



This thing, in the hands of its very capable pilot, can land and stop within a couple of plane lengths.

When I walked up to look at it, LE was my first thought. He must have gotten his inspiration from Leonard.
