When DayLight Time changes inspect these things on your Eagle

1) Battery been in-service more than a year from date of purchase? - Use it for something else and replace with new writing the date of purchase on the battery...

2) Blue / Tan/ Yellow UL fuel lines need to be replaced every 2 years - inspect others for cracks and test the clamp security... (ADDED 11/15/2015 - If the oil pressure gauge line is not copper and or not properly supported it has a service life... There recently was a total failure of a plastic line - fortunately at run-up - it could be broken anywhere between inspecting fingers it was so brittle...) An unsupported copper line will work harden and break - inspect this installation end to end... Some have put a small orifice in the line connector at the block to slowly let oil thru if a down stream break occurs... A 1/8"line gushes oil at 40psi...


3) In-line fuel filter screen should be replaced every 2 years or just save yourself some grief and replace the whole unit...

4) Look the bike tires over for cuts - if they are starting to lose air more often replace the tire & tube...

5) if you are using the spigot carb rubber couplings check for cracks - most fail in 2 or 3 years... Look over your safety wire carb to head arrangement... Be sure the throttle cable adjustment jam nuts are tight... 6) Be sure the alum strap seat is secured top & bottom with bolt's & nuts per Leonard's notice to change out the rivets...

7) Check the plans version of the fuel tank cap for JB Weld security - JB dies in about a year of fuel immersion...

Check prop bolts torque...


Figure out one more way to take weight off the plane that isn't in the plans and give it a birthday present... It is a fact that you are probably heavier and there is a little less spirit in the engine...

The YELLOW Tygon fuel line gets HARD and SHRINKS.... Will pull off fittings if no slack is available!

Items 1 & 2 done this week: New battery and new fuel line! My yellow tygon was getting cracks inside, looking for a way to get outside!
