What modifications are you going to make?  It seems like everyone is doing something for the cg.

sonicapollo...........I think you are right about mods....we all have preferences. The one CERTAIN thing I am doing is getting away from the spindly little 3/4 inch axle. I really like the rest of the MLG, but I am going to use  c172 hollow aluminum axles , and 6:00-6 tires , with the used McCauley brakes/calipers,etc off of a plane that I converted to Clevelands many years ago. The MLG is adequate, but I dont always make flawless landings....and the rural strips I frequent up here in Idaho can be kinda rough. I may also move the firewall back about 6 inches, depending upon my final decision regarding the powerplant. I pretty much have ruled out the VW....just does'nt have enough "grunt" to swing a big prop, unless ya go with a PSRU....and then it gets kinda spendy. Costs aside(and great that vw's are), my field elevation here is 4600ft. and density altitude is an ugly factor that I cannot escape. More than likely, I will go with a suzukig13bb and gear-drive PSRU with a 3bladed powerfin . A good friend of mine up here has the same combo on a plane that is even 150# heavier than  the DE....and it has about 455 in thrust #'s. Jumps off the ground, even at 8500ft and summer temps(minimum fuel and pilot only). The other mod will likely be a soft-pack BRS system...I am still playing around with W&B scenarios, and need to make a decision within 4-5 m onths... This is a neat little craft, I think it will be even more fun than my Chief was!!!!
