Spar Caps

The drawings show the spar cap tapering out to end of the wings.  I wonder if someone can describe what method he used to remove that material (band-saw, hand plane, etc.). How did you measure/mark the cap strip?

Though I don’t think many have done this, a very simple fence  setup on your table saw will do this nicely. 

i.e. as your board goes along the tapered fence, the saw blade cuts the angle for you.  Just a bit of math-clamping work will do the trick.

I measured, drew the line and cut it with a small band saw and then used  sand paper on mine.
