black max type wheels without brakes?

anyone ever done this?  just curious if it is a worthwhile venture.

Brakes are always extra parts so there is no challenge in removing them.

But like many other parts they will be missed the most when you need them the most. Thus I might think about swapping to lighter brakes I would not consider doing without. YMMV

I second what Steve said. They will be missed. I look at brakes as a necessity.  With black max you can save approx 1/2 pound by going to the 4" wide wheel.

My comments on this, if you are flying out of large, wide, grass strip, away from other aircraft brakes are not required.   If you are flying out of a hard surface, narrow runway around other aircraft, and taxiing around other aircraft brekes are a good idea.
