Lightening Holes In Wing Spar Filler Blocks

Anybody drill lightening holes in the solid spruce wing fitting filler blocks before putting the plywood webbing over them? Those are some pretty large hunks of wood between the spar caps.

No, don't remove any material from the filler blocks. These chunks of wood transmit the load from the wing spars to the aluminum fittings that then transmit the load to the fuselage. Best to follow the plans

Thanks. I was just curious. I did not drill the filler blocks except where the fittings bolt through.
