spar wing strut fitting
« on: December 23, 2021, 03:50:34 PM »
This is the 3/4" x 2" filler block on both the front and rear spars for the wing strut attach fittings. Plans say to overlay with a 1/8" x 2 1/2" piece of plywood.  Is this overlay piece on both sides of the spar or just on the open side? That is the back side of the front spar and the front side of the rear spar. Thanks

Sheet # 35 calls for 1/8" ply over both sides and on sheet #36 the detail shows the reason for two overlay pieces is to create 1 1/8" space between wing fittings for wing attachment to the fuselage.

Thanks Charles, I saw the note on sheet 35 and I saw that the wing strut steel tube was 1 1/8" but I missed the info on sheet 36. I'll go look at sheet 36 and see how I missed it. THX again.
