Spring or no spring
« on: May 05, 2014, 04:46:28 PM »
MY guess, if I were building the XL with the big tyres, I wouldn't put no external springs on the gear as the tyres absorb all the shock. I don't believe the springs are even SHOWN on the XL plans, are they?

There are drawings for the struts in the XL plans and a jewel level design in the the Downloads by Engelman...

The springs are really nice if you are taxiing along slow in the rough . . .
