This is a comparison of various engines for the Legal Eagle UL and XL.  It is met to provide some in site for comparisons of the option. The prices may not be the latest because of inflation.

Thanks for the useful chart.  Once more engine (not really) to add.  There was a LE for sale on FB with a 4 cyl VW.  Had a rather large battery in halfway to the tail as well.

There have been a few other options that have been used and I think there are even more that have not been tried.  I am thinking seriously of the Polini Thor 303DH.  I also think the new engine Badlands (THUMP-AIR 4) is selling would be a great fit.  There have been some great strides made with single cylinder light engines over the last few years spurred on by the Paramotor industry.  Other engines that have been used are Kawasaki, Hirth, Rotax and I am sure more.

The Aero 1000 is another single cylinder 4 stroke which looks interesting.
