I have been a fan of Jim Foreman's stories for several years now - I was born 110 air miles south of him and finished my Panhandle raisin-up 50 miles NNW of his home town. Started my aviation passion off bumming a ride in a Crop Duster on the sly after school one day at age 12. Mom was not very happy about that, Dad threatened to beat me if I did it again - in between asking me how it felt UP THERE.... Jim's stories from the Texas Panhandle hit a special note with me. His stories make you head out to the strip, spill some gas in the tank and get some wind under the wings and in your face. Of course, by the time Uncle Sam sent me my invitation to Vietnam, I was ready to get out of the Panhandle DUST BOWL for greener pastures - taught me to be real careful about what I wished for after that :-)
