Perhaps someone thinks they can improve on the plans wing. Most everything can be improved.
I have not heard of an improved version. But it would require you fly the plans wing and the improved wing to know for sure.

To compare apples to Apples, need fly the plans wing and improved wings, on the same day...same conditions, same person.. so many details.
Otherwise, you only have the viewpoint of one person, for that one plane, on each particular day. Toss in the mathematical variables and it gets complicated.
All this (changes) gets shrunk tremendously at 60 mph. Take a 1% improvement on a 60 vs 200 mph aircraft. .6 vs 2 mph or a 333% difference... but both 1% gain based on known facts of baseline speed.
