Theo, I have not weighed the tail spring yet. It is a lot lighter than the steel one. It is made up of 1/16th inch strips of hard maple glued with t-88 epoxy. I made the mold out of 2 layers of 3/4 inch medium density fiberboard. I have not finnished my plane yet so it has not been tested. It came out to about 3/4 inches thick. I made it oversized in length. I will cut it down some when I fit it to my fuselauge. I plan to take it to my local post office to weigh it soon as I finnish the tail wheel assy. My wife fell in the flower bed and broke her shoulder. She had to have a complete shoulder replacement. She got a bad infectionin it and had to have another surgery to replace part of it. I had to give her antibiotics through a pick line 3 times a day for 6 weeks. I had to learn to become nurse, cook,food shopper, house keeper, goffer and cook. It didn't leave much time for building. She is getting much better now so I might be able to get back on my plane soon. I had a lot of pictures of my build on here, but they got removed during an update on my computer some time ago. I will have to get my son-in-law to help me repost them when he is able to come back over here.
