DE Stubby originally had a pitot tube on the left front strut at the wing attach point and the static ports on each side of the fuselage side, lower edge, just aft of the door area. I think the static pressure fluctuated, causing same in the AS indicator. Then I just left the static line open just behind the seats. This produced a smoother AS indication, but seemed the speeds were indicating too high.
The next thing I would like to try is to put a static probe near the pitot. Mr G has had success. Bob65, let us know how you end up.
