I also love the ORANGE coloring!!! Should help immensely in visibility in flight!! 

Please inform us all in the muffler you have on the exhaust!!! Post a Youtube with the engine running so we can hear the effectiveness!!

The orange is very visible,I also fly sailplanes and from several miles away Big O is easy to see seating on the ground. I hanger at the soaring club and the only room left is next to the rafters,so Big O gets hung from the rafters.

as to the muffler , it is from an HD sportster. shorten  it some. at idle is very quiet,but barks pretty good at higher rpm.One draw back it is way heavy.

I am about to fit fuel tanks.  From what I can make out in the pics, your fuel outlet is at the front of the tank.  I know it is early days yet but I'd be keen to hear how you find it during testing given different aircraft attitudes in flight.  Is your fuel gauge one of the float types which is hanging below the wing?  If so, which one did you use, how did you go about fitting it and do you think it is at risk of being accidentally knocked.  I love the simplicity of it and would like to do the same on mine.

The fuel tank has an outlet front and back As to the fuel gauge,it is not store bought,custom made at  Joe Englemans shop. The tank is welded alum and gauge screws into a large welded fitting in tank,very sturdy.

Front and rear outlets seem like a good option and you have me thinking about that custom made site gauge.

I have just today ordered 2 x tanks from Team Mini-Max  http://www.teammini-max.com/online-store/fuel-tanks/ 
My skin does not react well to fiberglass which I discovered when previously building a KR2S.
Aluminum may have been an option however I do not have a TIG welder and it turns out that riveting and Proseal, apart from being messy as anything (again KR2S), was going to be very expensive.  The shipping alone of Proseal from AS&S to Australia is $300 as it is considered a hazardous goods item.  To buy just the Proseal here in Australia is $177 per tube and I would need 2!!  Aluminum cost would be on top of that and then there is the time needed to design, measure, fabricate, fold, drill, set flanges, cleco, proseal, rivet, test for leaks, repair found leaks and secure the tanks in the wing bays.
Shipping 2 premade tanks from MiniMax is $140, they should be here in a week and ready to install.
For me it was the easiest and less stressful choice.

The ONLY problem is sourcing the main body of the muffler... WHERE do you acquire such shapes?

I looked at the photo and a memory fell out of the cobwebs.
Those were stainless steel floats from a plumbing shop.
find such things in boilers.
Joe found them relative cheap in quantity somewhere.

Yeah, I know that as Joe said that way back when but he never came up with any info on where to source them!
Joe is a Master Scrounger but not much help with OP if you can't help get them !

Wallmart online
4" dia 7" long
About 70 bucks  and that just buys two pretty ends. You still need the inner tube and outside tube that matches the ball float dia.
add  a lot of fabrication to the project and I wonder what I can find in an off the shelf muffler
