Wing build repair, mixup? - fix mod.......
« on: December 07, 2018, 03:18:24 PM »
The gentleman who built my wings for me forgot to add the 1/4" x 1/2" strips before cutting the left wing aileron
loose from the main structure. It took some looking at but I came up with a solution....

I laser cut temporary locators and super glued them to the back of the aileron spar with one drop of glue.
I can then cut to length and locate the 1/4" x 1/2" strips and use T-88 epoxy to glue them in place. I will then remove the locators
after the T-88 has set. The locators fit perfectly.
On the right wing, I will put the strips on before cutting the aileron loose as per the plans using the locators again.

I like the Boss's suggestion about using a string to line up the "D" nose pieces.
