Hi Guys,
Well it's getting close to cover and rigging. I am a 63 y.o. disabled Army veteran and so far have been able to do my build with no big problems. My wife has been a huge help. My health has been going downhill and things are getting harder to do.
It's getting close to the time when I will need help to cover, paint, finish and paint and rig the wings and struts. I cannot do this myself. My chances of getting help from another Eagle builder or potential builder are slim. I cannot find anyone locally at my EAA chapter that would be interested. They all have their own projects to work on. it is a spread Eagle. Built from Legal Eagle and XL plans. Stretched to XL wingspan and airframe length.
I do not have any friends that have any interest or knowledge in aviation therefore they cannot be of much help with the rigging of the wings and W&B. Even if they were free to assist me.
I have to make a decision, complete somehow, leave it as is or sell my project. It's at a true 85% completion and I have EVERYTHING to finish it.
Right down to vortex generators, a Garmin 496, and the paint. Currently, I am completing the nose sheeting on the right wing. Left wing is ready to cover. After covering, I will be at a standstill.
I have a year and a half into my Eagle and it is so close. Maybe 30 hours to flying. I have over 8k invested so far. I would sell it at it's current state for 7k. It has a fantastic engine. It would be perfect for the potential Eagle owner that does not want to do any building of the frame, tail group, wings, etc. Just paint, assemble and fly. I would prefer to finish, fly and keep it but will let it go if I have to. I would rather see someone else enjoy it rather than have my sons part it out after I'm gone.
Anyone else been in this situation?? What did you do.
Thanks guys.
