Dave, I believe that is the literal name for the aerosol CLP: "Clean, Lubricate, Protect"
(Marketing department suggests that it can do all three, but I'm skeptical since they seem to be somewhat exclusive of each other)
I was thinking something along the lines of Ballistol to lube and protect, but my only experience is with firearms, and stuff that cleans well doesn't lube or protect well. Maybe have to use a cleaner, and then a lube/ protectant? Ballistol seems to hang in there longer than anything else I've tried for protectant, but I would think that some of the lubes which penetrate metal on a molecular level would work better as both lube and protectant. I've had great success with this stuff, and the more it is used, the slicker the metal becomes until it is almost frictionless. Stands to reason that it would then also protect against corrosion too:

Imagine that! They make something just for such things! It's almost like someone's thought about this before us.
