Station 1
« on: February 25, 2021, 02:33:42 PM »
I'm about ready to start thinking about station 1, and the drawing (8A) shows it to be 11 1/2"X 13 1/2" and clearly outside to outside. Looking at the side and top view of the fuse drawings, it shows the same dimensions, but says "all dimensions to the center of the tube."
 :)
what is everybody doing?

Look here:

Thanks for that. As many times as I've searched this forum, I've never seen that page.  ::) I *would* have changed the rudder horn shape, but that's already done. I'm planning on leaving the stick location until final assembly, along with welding the location of the elevator horn. I'll document that when I get to it.
Since I will be installing the Verner, I'm thinking about just putting spools in the corners of station one unless someone says that's not a good idea..

I find it easier to use the search button on the main menu instead of the search box on the upper right of the page.  They do seem to work with different parameters...

You are right again, Dan.  :)) The same search parameters bring different results on the "home" page. Who woulda thought? Thanks!

Always good tips from the engineers on here, in my morning screen time im watching EAA video classes, huge resource there!
I have to say from 'blue collar' side of it, hand drawn plans or Vemco arm(pre-CAD), leave room for the buuilder to make changes that make final project unique yet similar. As a home builder(framing) I've gone back to the Architech to show where his roof design is 'asymetrical' and he laughs and says build it anyway want(not giving us redraw) then client asks/complain why upper floor room has lower ceiling than the rest...
I'm an over thinker yes, but quickly see where somthings are up to the builder and may not matter safe flight in an ultralight. IE:rudder horn moment, pull pull cables
