Any Cabin Eagles out there?
« on: June 07, 2021, 03:02:33 PM »
It’s been five years since Leonard Milholland started selling Cabin Eagle plans.  Have any customer-built examples flown or projects made significant progress in that time?  I have not seen any.   :(

Yes my Cabin Eagle is complete but not flown yet.
I am performing taxi tests and still need the airworthiness inspection.

Very cool, Paul!  How did the weight and balance work out with the two-stroke engine?  And are there removable panels on the forward fuselage, you haven't put the fabric there yet, or you're going for a breezy cabin?  ;-)

I've still got to do the final W&B. Overall the plane is a bit on the heavy side. My initial weigh in showed the W&B close to where I want it.
I've got removable aluminium panels for the forward fueslage (Thats how I knew the pics were a bit old).

I should be finished with my wings this month, except for covering. Then I will be starting the fuselage.

Hi, Paul.  Any updates on the status of your Cabin Eagle?  First flight, more pics?  Cheers, Matthew

Afraid not.
I'm having a lot of problems with my brakes. Finally decided to replace them.
That's the only thing holding me up from more taxi testing and the airworthiness cert.

Finished in April

Cool plane, thanks for sharing the pics, but this is a thread about Leonard Millholland's enclosed, two-seat, folding-wing Cabin Eagle design, not all Legal Eagle types with enclosed cabins.   ;)

Wow, it's been almost seven years since the Cabin Eagle plans were released.  I have yet to see a pic of a customer-built example except for Kiwi55's project.  Does anyone here know of one that has flown or is at least getting close to flying?

Our EAA chapter is interested in building a 2-place.  They were looking at a DE but I found out about the CE and suggested it since it has doors and folding wings.  I too am amazed there is almost 0 info on the internet and YouTube.  I was hoping to see some build pics and videos.

Bump... I know its an old thread but I am one of the plan owners hoping to start soon.  Are there any more completed Cabin Eagles flying?
