Now for a comparison of props. One is for a 45HP 1/2 VW the other is the prototype for the Scarlett 3VW.
@sciguy, it is the larger one. Check to 2 photos of the props against the one on the new engine. It rotates anti clockwise, so therefore is the larger one. The Smaller one would be for the VW based engine.am i right Frank ?cheers Paul
Yeah, sorry i didn't clarify that. The S3VW turns clockwise(sittin in the seat view) Yes, much larger prop compared to the 1/2. Almost twice the blade area of the 1/2 also. this first prop is 62x36, the diameter is limited by ground clearance. but could go larger if we weren't worried about trimming it inadvertently. 82lbs with starter assembly and generator. close to 70 without those conveniences. it'll be interesting to see the ROC will be, max torque is 2100-2200- rpm and 38-39 hp. :-)
