I’ve just finished making the nose ribs. Even though they’re not perfect, I’m happy with the results and wanted to share a few photos.

I worked at a factory in a past life.  FMC... (farmers makin' cranes)

The "official" shop tolerance was said to be 1/8 inch for the welding dept.

My boss was fond of saying "you get an inch on a house --two on a barn."

Where I worked in the tool room, etc. tolerances were 2 place decimals plus or minus .015" 3 place .001" 4 place .0002
That said, tool and die makers, etc. tend to build airplanes with too close tolerances. Airplanes need what is called a "running fit" to operate in different conditions and temperatures.
