Trying to keep up with Sam who is our resident photo/vid professional here's me n 143's first flight. The takeoff got cut off by the ham fisted vid editor and he couldnt get it back. Wasn't much to it anyway.
Man, the thing is running strong. The motor is approaching the magic 50 hour mark where they usually wake up. Even washed it. Well, didn't hand wash it just squirted it with the hose. Looks great.

good eye Bob. it was deer...we're run over with em around here. sometimes have to run em off the strip to land. the hawgs are around but not near as bad as the deer. yet.

hey JL did the tornadoes miss you tonight? Harrison is in the area that was hit? i got folks in Batesville...it missed them. we're watching it down here in Miss. the ribs are the hardest part for me

Nice to see ole 143 back in action again for the 2014 season.
 I hope to be posting some new videos to keep up with You, Sam & Les soon. Our field is still a little soggy yet. The frost line has not completely let out yet and don't want to rut up the runway. It has been a real cold winter here. I'm working through a little vibration issue that I think I have figured out. Stay safe with the storms down your way.

I may have missed your posts about your windscreen, but didn't it used to be a 3 piece job? I like how you have it now. Any chance we could get some pictures of how you have it rigged up?

Joe stepped out of the hanger to look for funnel clouds... Until he gets back for the A version of the current windscreen - it's .040 Lexan sheet from Ritout Plastics in San Diego, CA... He just trims to fit right from the top of sta 1 to the top of the wing leading edge and wraps it around to some special  anchor pieces coming up from sta 2... It's an art job... This is his second one from the light material...

The thing I noticed is how much the engine moves around on final approach!  It's Joe and Rocky's fault I'm here.  I'm a CH701 builder, but when that's done I'm ready for some of this!

Yeah, that thar is one of Frank,s...a 5818 cut down to a 5718. It's an experimental job he cooked up with a  non standard camber at the tip IIRC and was a bit thick for windin much at 58 so cut it down an inch. works good. i thank a 57 is about right for my knockin around nowadays since I got off the heavy experimentin. Just relaxed motorin around and takin a few vids. We got a flock of Bald Eagles up the bottom here that seems to like a Legal Eagle...there's one that comes up toward it to take a look(kinda like the geese do). I thank it may be cause he's ruttin? The females just sit on the limb and watch. I'm gonna see if he will come close enuf to get him on the vid. I just motor by and let him do what he wants to.
PuttPutt, bein a man, is a bit nervous about it all. I just tell him it'll be a new life experience for him.

with the motor at about 2500rpm the airframe vibes, including where the vid is mounted. That's most of what looks like motor rolling around.

I was kinda expectin' you to come back in line with what the prop calculators predicted once you got tired of the 60" creating more howl than practical thrust. 

Yep....relaxed motoring around is what the Eagles are best at doing.  If you want an even more relaxed cruise git a stick with a bit more pitch. The big motor will pull it with ease.
