Not sure if anyone else from the UK is interested in the Legal Eagle XL but following regulatory changes it is now possible to operate sub 300 kg (660 lbs) single seat microlights (subject to a stall speed limitation) without any formal approval of the design by the authorities.
As a proven design, the LE should suit the scheme well.
I have other projects at the moment, but I have got a DAF 2-cylinder engine at home that would suit it well. I am planning to convert that in anticipation of building a LE one day.
