Would it be out of line to ask someone to post a Bill of materials for the XL? I'm nearly sold on the design but would like to crunch some numbers before I pull the trigger.

The Materials List is located in the Eaglersnests Yahoo Group [Files] here: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/EaglersNests/files/-XL%20/Materials%20Information/

New member here.  I tried to access the Yahoo link but even after I signed in with my email, it said I had to be a member of the group to see the B.O.M.

Any tricks to this?

Cheers,
Cody

What I meant was, how do I join.  I saw no button or link saying "request membership" or "join" or whatever.

Thanks,
Cody

Thank you again to this group. I have recently purchased XL plans (shipping in process) and was looking for a BOM to work up a budget.

You don't need an invite.  You do need a yahoo account. (a yahoo email address)

You technically can join a Yahoo group without a yahoo account, but you will only be on the mailing list --you would not be able to see the files, photos, etc.

This will do you no good with this particular yahoo group because it does not send out group emails.

If you have a yahoo account you should see a "join this group" button in the upper right on the group page.  I.E. here:

 https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/EaglersNests/info

Just mention you are a member @ eaglers nest forum...

Here is a blow, by blow on how to do it...

Since this an XL BOM thread, I ordered the Aluminum for the Tail Feathers, but in the plans I now see that there are c-channels used for the ribs, there is no list for it in the BOM, How would I know what size and how much to get? it just says 1/4"xFIT not sure what width to get and length, also is 1/4" tall enough, that's the area the gussets rivet to.

I need to get it, I though I was ready to start on them this weekend, what a feeling thinking and planning to work on it and not have all the material on hand.

check your drawings; I think you will find these channels are different sizes on each end.
Like on the elevator    3/4 inch at the hinge and 3/8 inch at the trailing edge. They are tapers. you get to make them or have them made. They come from 0.020 alum sheet.
While I am sure that comes as unwelcome surprise number 2; there is a lot of work getting the tubing happy and you need that before you really  can determine the exact lengths
Each piece is slightly different as a long one tapers slower than a short one. We will call this one number 3 . Some probably ignore number 3 and get away with a slightly bad fit.
Sorry to bring in the bad news but it is what it is.
TomXL-7
Other areas of the tail feathers have other tube sizes. There is no common size.
